Of all the stories in the Hot Summer Days anthology, I have to admit that this is not one that I was eager to read. It states very clearly in the descriptions that I have read that the relationship is based on deception... the beginning of it anyway. I didn't think it was my thing. But here I am 80 percent into the anthology and I come to this one. I've read all the others up to this one so I had to read it, right?

Of course.

I am so glad I did. This is so not what I expected. What a wonderful story. I love all the characters... main and secondary. The setting is perfect. The characters are perfect. The story is perfect. Because it was a bit longer than the other stories I have read (so far) in the anthology, there was ample character growth. I didn't feel like anything was missing.

This one ranks up there as one of my faves so far. I can't wait to read more by this author.
