I recently saw this author talking about In the Garden of Beasts and was interested in some of his other books. I decided to read this one next and I'm glad I did. I found it very interesting how Larson interwove the stories of the building of the Chicago World's Fair with the tale of a serial killer. It almost sounds like this killer was the forerunner of the murdering weirdos we hear about today. Anyway, that Chicago undertook such a humongous goal; and accomplished it in such a short time is really incredible. This was a totally absorbing book.
