Read in March, 2012

This is the first of Jan Ruth's novels I read. I heard about her in a local newspaper, and having just had a kindle for Christmas and living in the area she writes about I decided to download her first and second novel (the only two out at that time).
I was immediately drawn into Jack's world, fell a little in love with him and Anna and her dogs. Loved reading the descriptions of the countryside, being able to picture the familiar places. Hated certain characters too, and was willing Jack to do what I thought he should.
It is a lovely book, I raced through it as it's such a page turner and then felt a bump as realised it was done! I returned to the characters in my mind for a while afterwards as I had carried them with me while I was reading it, always a sign of a good read to me, and something I've now come to expect from Jan Ruth's books.
I have also learned we have the same taste in men - I always fall for her leading ones :)
