I didn't expect that this book would make me cry!

The last review I wrote was for a collection of plays by Neil Simon. In that review, I mentioned that it seemed so easy to write plays, but this book cleared up that it's not easy at all. Play writing is a constant, evolving piece of work that requires rewriting on the spot and flexibility.

It was really interesting to follow Simon's rise to fame and all the little adventures he had in the meantime. I'm not very familiar with Broadway and Broadway names, so it helped to have a wikipedia browser open to put faces and names together. Simon wasn't afraid to name names of enemies or to tell some not so flattering stories about himself.

The book is very charming.
