What beautiful book! The lovely, evocative illustrations perfectly capture the nostalgic, slightly sad tone of the story. Perfect for book lovers of all ages, it chronicles the life of a special little book that was once new, popular, and often read. But being a library book, it becomes worn, moves to the regular children's section and only gets checked out occasionally. One day the lonely book finds a girl who treasures it again. I related to the story in such a personal way. I loved (and still love) finding worn, forgotten gems to read and re-read. Those are the books that shape your imagination and become a part of you. It's rare for a picture book to make me cry- this definitely brought tears to my eyes.
