Scarcity is the fundamental economic principle. In this book, the founder of the Ansari X Prize sets out to show that we're at a sort of technological tipping point that will turn that basic economic principle on its head.

In a world that loves to talk about calamity, this is a refreshingly positive and hopeful view into what the near future of humanity can look like: a world where information inequalities all but vanish, where economic and political liberty abound, and where exponential technologies demonetize and dematerialize the necessities of life for billions, allowing humanity to spend its time in pursuit of higher ends than just subsisting.

Kind of sounds like the millennium to me. =)
