Read in January, 1985 — I own a copy

This book kick started my passion for reading as a very young child. Its a picture book rather than a comic, just enough text that it made you feel like you were reading a "real book" but four wonderful line drawings on each page to really bring the story to life. Add into that the little information tit bits such as pictures of the weapons the Highlands & Redcoats used and maps of the route David & Alan took it was just the thing to fire up the imagination of a young boy. I've picked up several copies of Kidnapped over the years but in my minds eye its the pictures from this edition I see when I read the story.
