Audiobook this time around (3 stars narration, 5 stars story)...I don't enjoy Justine Eyre nearly as much as I'd like to. I just can't get used to her cadence and inflections during her non-dialogue parts and her New England accent definitely needs work. I still LOVE this story, though. It is KH, after all. :)

It's been a long time since I've sat down, in the middle of the day, and just read. I didn't want to put this book down. I absolutely adore Kristan Higgins! She. Just. Gets. It. She gives us fantasticly witty characters, amazing and entertaining supporting characters, incredible story telling, perfect backdrop descriptions and bone melting goo moments. I get to have the banter, tension and heat without the fear of one of my kids reading over my shoulder. I have never felt "kept in the dark" with regards to love scenes. She puts in just enough spice. There are NOT enough writers like her out there!! Now if only they'd giddy-up and get her books on audio for gracious sakes!!!! I could re-read (listen) to all of them......

I know he's not a main character (and maybe it's unfair to compare this to Sands' narration)...but I'm not sure what Eyre was thinking when she decided what voice to give Malone. It is waaay off the mark. I want to lose myself in the story but little things like that have me wincing."

Xe Sands I think you just pegged why I enjoy her work :) This one is in audio, but you're right - her backlist needs to make it into audio.

Lea's Audiobooks Hensley I completely agree Terra on your "She. Just. Gets. It."

And I would not only listen to all of her backlist in audio (once it's there) - I'd relisten. I love her writing that much.
