The Cranes Dance
by Meg Howrey
by Meg Howrey
A beautiful insight on the world of professional dancing. The Cranes Dance is about much more than just dancing. It's about the powerful and sometimes tough relationship that is sisterhood. Kate, the elder sister, is trying to look out for her younger sister Gwen, which is difficult when her own life is sress enough. Gwen is having some kind of mental breakdown, and when Kate can't handle having to take care of her anymore, she snaps and calls her parents to come get Gwen. Kate now struggles with the guilt of taking her sister out of the game, as well as balming herself for letting her sister's mental problems go on for so long without addressing them. These hardships reflect in her other personal relationships, as well as her dancing. A great read for dancers and non-dancers alike.
