it was amazing
Read from December 01 to 29, 2012

Banks really understands to build up a story in several levels.

The story is about a master player - loving and living for games of all types but mostly board games. However at some point he has seen every game mechanism and strategy, all kinds of puzzles and is starting to get bored.

The culture offers him the opportunity to go to the far system Eä. The Empire of Eä is build around and holding up against the culture based on a board game called Azad. The player is accepted as alien player and not expected to stay long in the matches.

He will surprise - even himself... and in the end discover that he was part of a bigger game .....

I highly recommend reading the book if you enjoyed the first culture novel from Banks "Consider Phlebas".
