I think this subject matter was way too ambitious for one book. I never really got a sense of what motivated these men to become the kind of judges they eventually became. Each chapter was only three or four pages long, just way too short to cover the important subject matter. I learned about some cases I'd never heard of before, but wanted more information on them. I guess if you want a general overview of FDR's court, this would be an okay book, but if you are more interested in the Supreme Court, constitutional law and history, I would try something else.
