A gross and very disturbing book about grave robbing. I HATED the main character at times and wanted to shake him for making some very dumb choices which ultimately made his horrible life more horrible, but in the end he does redeem himself and get his revenge. This book is written beautifully and much of the language is so descriptive you gag while listening to it. For example there is a detailed account of a rat king (bunch of rats joined together to form a rat ball) found in a grave that gave me the heebie-jeebies for days. I read this as an audio book and the reader does an amazing job playing the many quirky characters. I wouldn't say this was a YA book at all other then the fact that the main character is a teen. I would really just recommend this to advanced readers in high school or adults looking for a well written, horror, character driven novel.
