This is a wondrous story. Eowyn Ivey's storytelling is by turns the perfect balance of realism, magic and heart. The backdrop is the wild Alaskan wilderness with its ice touched rivers and frost laden trees. A lonely couple live quietly in a cabin trying to make a go of life on the edge. A mysterious visitor comes and goes on a whim like a quiet snowfall or a blinding blizzard and brings love and hope. This book has received a very positive response from readers. I loved it! --Amy O.
