I was a mere 10 years old the last time I read this series and yet it's never left me. Given half a chance, I'll talk it up to anyone. I love everything about this world that Alexander created - - the fact that the "hero" is eternally an "assistant pig-keeper" (emphasis on ASSISTANT!), the constant threat of the undead "cauldron-born," the lands, the princes, the Caers... and even "crunchings and munchings" obsessed Gurgi.

Oh and Eilonwy, of course... her winding, twisty speech patterns and diction cracks me up every time she opens her mouth. And of course Flewder and his polygraphic harp!

I'm a fan. (Though this book would have benefited from the presence of the Horned King back in book 1 - - he was dispatched far too tidily, if you ask me.)
