really liked it
bookshelves: ya, humor, realistic-fiction, high-school-romance, popularity

IN THIS STORY ABOUT THE PERILS OF POPULARITY, THE COURAGE OF NONCOMFORMITY, AND THE THRILL OF FIRST LOVE, AN ECCENTRIC STUDENT NAMED STARGIRL CHANGES MICA HIGH SCHOOL.

THIS SHORT, BUT HIGHLY READABLE, STORY REALLY DEMONSTRATES THE STRONG PRESSURE TO CONFORM AMONG TEENAGERS. LEO REALLY TRIES TO OVERLOOK STARGIRL'S "DIFFERNTNESS", BUT INTHE END, CAN'T GET OVER IT. OVER TIME, READERS WILL SEE THE IMPACT SHE HAD ON THE SCHOOL, BUT MANY YEARS LATER. EXCELLENT BOOK FOR DISCUSSION. THE STORY IS HUMOROUS, ROMANTIC, AND PROVIDES A REALISTIC VIEW OF TODAY'S HIGH SCHOOL CULTURE.
