bookshelves: family, food, ga-pre-k, animals, adventure

I would use “Blueberries For Sal” with older children. It’s lengthy, and though the illustrations are detailed, there is no color. It could be used as a springboard to teach children to eat their fruits.

You could extend this book by doing a cooking activity and make blueberry muffins. Have the children measure and pour and mix. They can either eat what they made later on or take it home.
