really liked it

Tragic. Full of drama, as only a bisexual love triangle can be, and full of the misogyny of self-hating gay men. I wanted this novel to transcend it's time so much more than it did in terms of being explicit about what the narrator and Giovanni shared, but felt safe in Baldwin's languid prose.
