As I have said in the past, I just adore A.J. Jacobs. His books about his "experiments" are always funny, interesting, accessible and surprisingly touching. This one was no different. The title pretty much explains it - Jacobs spent two years trying to make himself the healthiest person in the world. Each chapter focuses on a different body part and Jacobs' crazy adventures in trying to improve it. I appreciate that he never got preachy and he always had a sense of humor about himself. The pictures he included always made me laugh. And though I say this about every one of his books, I will say it again - oh my, his wife Julie is the most patient person EVER!

One thing I wish he would have mentioned is how expensive it is to live healthily. Not everyone can just buy a treadmill at the drop of a hat, or pay for yoga classes or "cleansing drinks" or flaxseed oil and salmon every day. In all fairness, that really wasn't what the book was about, and bringing up the topic probably would have opened up a whole Pandora's Box. But I wish there were maybe one or two sentences acknowledging that he was approaching this somewhat from a position of privilege.
