Kendra was a captivating read. Her infatuation with two boys during high school was quite relatable to the plight of any freshman girl. The plight between the older guy that intrigues you and the younger one who is cool and just...alright. Typical, but well written. Kendra's struggles with her scholar mother was a unique perspective. It's rare that you find urban fiction, b/c that's precisely what this is, with a parent who is well to do. Nevertheless still neglectful and selfish. I was quite annoyed with the extremely adult scenarios in the book. It has even inspired me to write a post for YA authors, they're getting out of control. Can't we ever show our kids the simplicity in being a teenager anymore?
