Read from April 23 to 25, 2012

One of 2011's finest works of neo-noir fiction, "Beautiful, Naked & Dead" explodes out of the gate, and keeps pummeling the reader until the final page. While BND's subject matter isn't revolutionary, Stalling's incendiary prose elevates this one beyond its genre brethren. And protagonist Moses McGuire breaths life into the noir anti-hero archetype--something for which this genre has been waiting.

Mix Stalling's considerable talents with a healthy dose of sex, drugs, and violence--not to mention outstanding taste in music--and its easy to see why "Beautiful, Naked & Dead" is making such an impact on the crime-fiction world. Hollywood calling?
