** spoiler alert ** I dont often do this but I read this book without knowing what it was about - the version I have has a picture of a house in a shattered glass ball and honestly it was cheap and I liked the cover so I downloaded it to my e-reader.
Had I known what it was about - at all I might not have had the same reaction as I might have had different expectations. As it was once I started reading I thought it was kind of a snapshot of someone's life kind of story, and after a bit I thought oh no - unfortunate but that Kieren fellow is probably going to commit suicide and we'll see how they all react to it. So I was a little surprised at the main event.
I really enjoyed many of the characters - I hate that their names were Ruby and Max because I kept picturing the cartoon but those 2 were great characters. The friends too, it was nice to see teenage girls portrayed as something more than a heartless bullies.

Overall I thought it was well told.
