liked it

I enjoyed reading this, but will hesitate to call this a legal thriller. It has its twists and turns, and it builds up the tension very believably, but I thought the narrative could have been a lot more succinct. I think the novel would have been great had been shorter by about hundred pages. The emotions of a mother waiting for her son to be killed as capital punishment is tremendously captured. This novel will evoke very strong opinions given its topic (capital punishment-debt sentence); in that respect it is more of a political statement from the author rather than a fiction thriller. I liked it.
