I enjoyed the setting of this novel (Palo Alto in the late 1960s/early 1970s), the friendship of the 5 main characters, and the fact that all of them were readers and writers. Even with 5 characters, each was fairly well-developed. I found this to be a quick read once I got a few chapters in, and the chapters were so short, I wanted to just keep going. Would recommend to anyone interesting in a book that is well-written but fast-paced, women-centered without being too much like chick lit.
