The Innocent (Will Robie, #1)
by David Baldacci
by David Baldacci
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was somewhat different from Baldacci's other novels in that this one had as one of the central characters a teenage girl. She was an extremely bright, precocious young woman which made her character interesting to read about.
I like novels about our government and Washington DC, especially the investigative units such as the FBI and DOD. The main character, Will Robie, was a nice guy in spite of his occupation. I liked him as a person, so I was rooting for him all the way. I think Baldacci is a clever writer who weaves creative plots and helps the good guys win. But I was pleased that I could figure out the terrorist killer early in the book. I was excited when Robie was able to bring this story to an exciting climax. The book closed on the right tone for me as well. I liked the way Baldacci left it open for Robie's future and for Agent Vance. Also it was good to have Julie's life full of happy possibilities since her life up to now had been pretty dismal. All the way around, this was a great reading experience.
