This is a cute follow up to Remembering Mrs. Rossi. This would fall under fun dog stories and not ones that make you cry. Would appeal to 2nd to 4th graders.

Not really. It pretty much stands alone. There is one thing that definitely connects back but it won't ruin the book if you don't know it.
