I have a finicky class this year when it comes to read-a-louds. They hated the ending of "There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom" calling it a "let down" and insisting "Bradley and Carla shoulda gotten married". "The Tiger Rising" fared a bit better, but again they argued about the ending. So I am forsaking any sense of dramatic tension for pure comedy. Barbara Park later became famous for the Junie B.Jones stories, but this has always ben my favorite of hers. The story is pretty straight forward about a class clown on a baseball team. Trouble ensues. Still, I don't remember laughing out loud as much at any other book as a child. We will see how this goes.
