Oh my goodness. I picked this up, meaning to have read a little, and finished it in one hour-and-a-half long sitting. Once done, I let out a sigh, a breath I felt like I'd been holding for a good two-thirds of the book. Brilliant novel about a few incredible months in the life of an American teen after an asteroid hits the moon and changes its orbit and the lives of everyone around the world. It's not about the catastrophe, but rather then consequences felt by those who have to carry on and survive under the changed, tough circumstances. The characters - her family - are lovingly drawn so that you care for them, but they are also realistic and have their petty moments and frustrations. The ending isn't completely neat, but offers hope, and I just found this such an absorbing read.
