I had really high expectations for this book because I absolutely LOVED 'The Maze Runner.' While I really enjoyed this sequel, I definitely didn't like it as much as the first.

I enjoyed the plot for the most part, but there were instances where it fell flat for me. I personally felt that the romance(s) really held this story back from it's full potential. In fact, anything with Teresa really bored me. There were also times where Thomas was away from the group, and I actually found those parts kinda boring as well. My favorite characters are Minho and Newt, so that's possibly just a personal thing.

As for characters, we are introduced to quite a few new faces in this book. While I loved the additions, there were a few points where I really didn't understand why it was included in the story. it didn't hurt it, but it didn't help it either.

While I didn't enjoy this chapter quite as much, I am still looking forward to picking up the final installment.
