A really fine collection of quirky, enjoyable short stories. He tackles many mundane themes---such as divorce, loneliness, loss, guilt---with funny vignettes that sparkle with funny wit (most of the time), and have little twists that make the stories that much more fun. Snapshot stories. Originally in Hebrew (apparently he is wildly popular in Israel), these translated pieces will often delight and bemuse. I really enjoyed "Cheesus Christ," "Ari," "Lieland," "What, of This Goldfish, Would You Wish?," and "One Step Beyond." Some, like "Unzipping" are fantastical. I definitely will have to try some of his earlier collections.
