This is a remarkable book by one of my favorite authors. It's a book of short stories described as "five stories of music and nightfall." The writing is beautiful with rich, quiet character development as is typical of this author. Each story is themed around music as it relates to life, love, emotional and psychological development. Each vignette slowly builds to a climax that seems perfect and sometimes unexpected. A beautiful piece of fiction.
