The Pox Party by M.T. AndersonI loved the first book in this series--The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation. It's set at the time of the American Revolution, written in 18th century style. The story continues here in Vol. II, with Octavian, a freed slave, trying to keep his freedom in the turmoil of the British occupation of Boston and the skirmishes with the rebels (our side!) who will return him to slavery should they capture him. He escapes to a British ship in the harbor, knowing that any day the war could be lost, and he would be considered a "traitor to the nation."

M.T. Anderson M.T. Anderson is a writer with astonishing abilities to write in any style he wants. This book seems to authentic because of his skill. I recommend it highly!
