It's a largish book but I finished it in a day. The narrative style grated in the beginning but it either smoothes out or I got used to it about 15% of the way through.

Wizard Knight has an old-school sword and sorcery feel to it. The protagonist is not a warrior that casts spells, but rather one who seems to have attracted the attention of spirits and elementals from the levels of existence that surround his own.

It's a good story with a lot of character growth.

I actually read it as two separate volumes and screwed up on the Goodreads entry. The second half of the epic, 'The Wizard', is nowhere near as good as the first half.
