Another great addition to the Tracers series.
A tautly intense suspense involving a FBI profiler Mark Wolfe and the San Marcos PD, Texas, with a compelling romance between said profiler and a rookie Detective, Allison Doyle.

Allison first meets Mark at a store when he helps her in a hold up. She later calls to his motel room because she knows he is in San Marcos because of the woman who was found murdered in her small community. Allison is not on the case, Jonah Macon (Snapped) is lead Detective.but she wants to be part of it. Mark has no hesitation in telling her about his theory which has to do with a serial killer, Death Raven as Mark calls him. He has pursued this killer for ten years who would seem has been dormant since then. He wants in on the investigation but at first he is met with reluctance as the department believe the man they have in custody is their murderer. With Allison's help they start to uncover links to connect to the present case and a witness who survived after being sexually assaulted a year ago. Mark is asking himself how many more women have been murdered by the same man in last ten years that are unknown about. A serial killer never quits. A task force is formed headed by Mark with Allison making sure she is part of.The Delphi Centre. Forensic Lab again have major impact in this book, the dedication that these guys have to unravelling the evidence they are presented with is awe-inspiring.With every book in this series you get a more in depth look at the different forensic carried out there plus you get to know the guys/gals more and more. In so much so you want to see a book with them individually.

Mark is a very intense conscientious FBI Agent who lives to work. He has a failed marriage behind him.He is attracted to Allison since he first met her. She was only meant to be his way to get onto the case but the more time he spends with her, the harder it gets for him to keep some distance between them.He is 16 years her senior and develops a guilty conscience over his desires for her.
Allison has only been Detective for few years and is determine to prove herself and gain respect from her fellow officers.She is stubborn and puts herself in the line of danger to achieve the answers to bring this case nearer to a closure. To watch these two inter-act and the sexual tension build between them was scintillating with Allison bringing down Mark's barriers which has him unable to say NO.

A well written story with twist and turns that you were expected to see coming. What was unexpected was there could be another victim that leaves Detective Sean Byrne in a consuming rage. A very fast read that like all Laura's books I just couldn't put down.Laura leaves you with a glimpse into next book "SCORCHED" with Forensic Anthropologist Kelsey Quin and Navy SEAL Gage Brewer who we first met in "Unstoppable" and who we know are already involved. Now it seems they have met a hurdle in their relationship.I so looking forward to this book and know I will not be disappointed.
