We used to think that revolutions are the cause of change. Actually it is the other way around: change prepares the ground for revolution. - Eric Hoffer

it is Princess Cassandra's sixteenth birthday and the great capital city of Orion is among those under attack. the væmpires have undergone mutations and have staged a revolution across the planet. hope and salvation lie in the hands of Daniel, a teenage vampire, and his three companions.
author Thomas Winship's novel about a new breed of vampires is fast-paced, action-packed and one of a kind! from the first page to the last, the thrills, chills and surprises never let up.
my imagination went into overdrive as i visualized the scenes taking place. they were gritty, visceral, gory and filled with mayhem. this was war after all and Mr. Winship does not mince words in presenting its horrors.
amidst all the violence and bloodbath though, there is the tender and sweet romance between Daniel and Cassie and the heroism of humans and vampires united together to fight a common enemy.
i really enjoyed every moment of reading this book. at first, i had to struggle a bit with the terms "vampires" and "væmpires" but i easily got past the confusion as i got more involved with the story.
this is also one of those vampire tales that i highly recommend. the language may be strong and not for the faint of heart but the entertainment value a reader can get is truly worth it!
