really liked it

I skimmed this one, but it has been so helpful to me with my children. I read it when my oldest was very small and I've been employing the methods ever since. I feel like I use the things I learned form this book every day. Listening with empathy when the kids are trying to tell me something and repeating what they are saying ("You wanted the green bowl, but couldn't find it? That must be so frustrating.") without immediately offering solutions has been so helpful to me especially with my strong willed child. I know it has helped me to be a better listener and mother and to help my children feel better understood and heard. And beyond just the language I think it has actually helped me to be more empathetic and understanding of their problems. I highly recommend it!

Janet Wilcox That same skill is a great one to use with teens and even adults. Good for you. Thank you so much Emily for sending such a sweet message for my birthday book collection. It was a wonderful gift, and I so enjoyed reading all the messages.
