The lorax by Dr.Seuss is a beautifully constructed and well-crafted children's picture story book. Everything about picture book is wonderful: the message that it sends young kids about conservation and environmental protection, the ideas about imagination and creation, the language choices, rhyme scheme throughout, vibrant illustrations, and character and plot development. This children's book is creatively written with exceptional language choices and imaginative characters. A young boy living in a land infested with pollution visits a strange creature called the Once-ler who lives in seclusion. He talks to the once-ler about why the land in such a terrible state and the once-over begins to tell him how the trufflula trees were cut thinking that's what the tweeds need. The Lorax, a small orange creature, appears and tells the once-ler about the consequences of cutting down the trees, and the story goes on showing the reader the side effects of deforestation and pollution. The book is creatively crafted and well written. The illustrations are the other aspect of the book that make it such a popular favorite. The colors are bright and vibrant and the drawings are detailed and creative, making the book all the more enjoyable. Overall, the book is great read, full of interest and excitement, entertaining any young child while teaching an important lesson about protecting and preserving the earth.
