Let me start of by saying I have read EVERY single one of Kinsellas' books. I loved Shopaholic when it first started - then by the end, well that's a different story. I thought I would do this review different than I have in the past - maybe start a new 'system'. :). While I was reading this time I made a few notations of my thoughts, so I'm going to list and then expound. Who knows what will come out but thought it sounded good so I'm gonna roll with it!

*Always find myself reading her novels in a strong, soft, British accent.

--In fact I read most of my brit-lit in a British accent, why I read Kinsellas' (don't judge the use of the apostrophe, I can never get it right) in a strong/soft one I have no idea - I feel as though her main characters are very low in the self esteem department, and somewhat timid.

*Love the Footnotes!

--When I wrote that it was on page 20 something, but the end they were irritating. I felt as though, the side notes should've just been included in the main text of the book. Although I was reading on an e-reader and it was simple to view the footnote and go back, it was quite frustrating, and would have flowed better just being included in the main chapter.

*Seems like in most of her books are the characters lying to themselves, as well as the main relationship being founded in the lie as well.

--Ever since the Gatecrasher (written as Madeline Wickham) it has bothered me how the main characters seem to all be habitual liars, at the beginning anyway - then they have to keep the lie going to either A) get through the situation they got themselves in or B) to snag the man, and then eventually have to tell him the truth. In 'I've Got Your Number', the lying wasn't so prevalent, but nonetheless, it was there and it bothered me.

*dodgy bits made me chuckle

--That's it. The way it was written, the set up - it just made me laugh.

*If those were my in-laws I'd be running away.

--This completely changed by the end - that's all I'm going to say. I should just know that Sophie is pretty good at keeping some peoples true identity 'hidden'.

*In the reviews before I read people were constantly mentioning how non-true to life this novel is.

--I have a few notes on this topic. First, I think it's completely okay for FICTION, especially lovey dovey feely fiction to not be true to life - I read them because the aren't life like and they have a little bit of that escapism for me, and forgive me if I'm wrong, but I feel that's a lot of why people do read them so often. Second, not a lot of people appreciated the ending (view spoiler)[of how she was going to continue to marry M even though he's a dolt. I would've probably done the same thing. I know that says a lot about me, and my self-esteem - but it's true, therefore, it's not as far away from real life as those are saying, or willing to admit. (hide spoiler)]

All in all I do think this is my favorite Kinsella book, and I only say that because I laughed, I got mad, I cried, all the emotions were there and I highly enjoyed it.
