it was amazing

I first read this book years ago in my quest to read Tolkien's Middle Earth stories before the Lord of the Rings movies started coming out in theaters. During my first perusal of this classic book, I would have said it was just a like reaction. However, after having re-read it earlier this year I find that I have fallen in love with this story. It was hard to put down even though I knew how the novel ended. The Hobbit proves that a fantasy novel doesn't have to be of an epic length to be a great tale.

J.R.R. Tolkien
“It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt,
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills,
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit
