really liked it
bookshelves: fantasy, coming-of-age, romance
Read in April, 2012

I loved the fact that the author created characters with both positive and negative traits. Elisa is a great military strategist beset by personal uncertainty. She is overweight and unconfident, but finds the strength to save her people. She marries the King of a neighboring land and he is very handsome and charming, but weak. Throughout the story we see how people are capable of great change when it is necessary.
