I love this man. Truly. He's a man on a mission to help us reclaim forgotten parenting wisdom. This books is, as usual, packed with great suggestions and common sense parenting. No psychology gobeldy gook from Mr. Rosemond. And as usual I laughed and laughed.

John Rosemond's philosophy in a nutsehll:

1. The family is marriage centered. The marriage comes first NOT the children. In the words of one wise French maman (quoted in "Bringing Up Bebe"). I chose my husband, I didn't choose my children."

2. Successful parenting is about being a good leader. The end.

3. The goal of parenting is to help children out of our lives and into successful lives of their own.

4. The main goal as parents should not be for our children to be happy or have high self-esteem. The goal is for them to be responsible, respectful, self-reliant, reliable, humble people.
