J.J. and his whole town notice that their time seems to be flying by. When he hears a disturbing story about his great-grandad, J.J. learns from his mother stories surrounding their family. Wanting to make his mother happy, J.J. promises to get her time for her birthday. He didn't know that his search for time would send him into the land of the faires, where they want nothing else but to be rid of the time they seem to have. With the help of Aengus, J.J. finds out where the time is coming from and learns about himself and his family as he fixes the hole between their worlds.

I thought this book had a good premise but the climax was under-whelming. Critically it was a good fantasy and a fun introduction into a culture unseen in the U.S. I would recommend this book to YA readers of all ages, though some with musical background may enjoy the music more than others.
