Everyone can relate to having your nemesis come back into your life and change things. This story of twin sisters who feel they have few choices discover that life can surprise you. Darlene and Carlene, along with younger sister Nolie, get reacquainted when Carlene returns to their childhood home.
This book reminded me of the LaVerle Spencer stories I read that made you feel as if you were standing right beside the character because of the depth of details about the scene. The colors, smells, sounds, and temperature surround you and draw you into the story.
I don’t want to give away the ending. I’ll just say that it is very satisfying in the way it takes each sister’s life to the next step.
Disclosure: I received a complementary advance copy of this novel.
