What the crap? ugh!
This is one book that I just don't recommend.
WARNING: May contain minor spoilers ahead.
This book was put under clean romance? I laugh at this. There is NOTHING clean about this book.
Why I didn't like this book is mostly due to my opinion of it being over sexed for a teen novel. They went to Third base? Third? Wow! And not just that but the guy is in his mid twenties while Rose is still I minor?! Wow! Did Hollywood decide to rap up a sexual drama in a young adult novel? And not just that one of the girls in the book cuts herself? Wow! It almost seemed like it was written about teens FOR a more mutate audience. I had to skim a few parts because of this.
I will grace you with a little story. I had a friend whose mom wouldn't let her READ Twilight but she was allowed to read THIS book. Wow! Once I got as far as I could go with this one I wanted to slap myself. As for those of you who have read this book and the entire Twilight books I think we can all agree that even the last Twibook isn't as raunchy and over sexed as this one is. Twilight NEVER is as detailed in a kissing scene and they don't even get to second base. But this one skips right to third.
And don't even get me started with Mia or Mya (whatever the mean girls name was) with sleeping around with those guys just to spread a disgusting false rumor? Soap opera much? That is crap.
This is how I see it;
RM: ohh, it is okay to ALMOST sleep with someone you barely know who is ten years older than you EVEN though you are a minor. And cutting is okay, do what feels good even if it is harmful to your body. And it is okay for the heroine to NOT be a good role model.
But hey, Twilight in its own way is the same. Bella IS obsessed with Edward and the other way around BUT to me the difference is how detailed and raunchy they kissing scenes are NOT that there is romance. I say this because a lot will sayTwilight is no different.and I guess I could see your point. But to e the difference Is they don't go into detail about sex or kissing and whatever. In romance a little goes a long way but a lot is overload. Oh wait, I am talking about lust and kiss scenes. Still,the saying is mutual. A little kissing is fine but when it goes into detail with the kissing and getting naked I get ready to puke. I felt like the scene with Rose and Dimitri was over rally explicit and gross.
Not only that but I think Rose seemed a bit selfabsorbed when she described her " HOT" body. Mary Sue much? The key to creating a all around good kick butt heroine is NOT to make her drop dead gorgeous. Other wise ninghty percent of women cant relate to her and if the reader (ninghty percent of women) cant relate to her then she is going to be really REALLY annoying. Example: s huge reason why some people talerate annoying characters is the feel a form of reparable connection with them... I.e. Bella Swan ( an annoying heroine that SOME people " relate " to and " talerate" her neediness on Edward.... get the picture?.....
Back to my point being that because Rose is so arragant I ( and this is JUST me here) felt NO connection with her. And I guarentee that if she wasn't so dang selfish then I would have liked her.
Rose has some admirable qualities in my opinion. Like how she would go through crap to protect Lisa. I know that it IS her job but I definatly felt throughout the book that she shows real loyalty and she definatly is a stubborn hard kick butt charaecter.
But her selfishness over her own body drove me mad. It wasn't that I hated that she was beautiful but I hated how she acted because of it AND that she was likley one of the prettiest girls in school. I mean, come on. Total copy of the Sue from VD.
Lisa was annoying because.......she was too weak. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind that she isn't strong like Rose but I felt like Lisa acted like such a baby. Would go into it more but I don't really feel like it now.
Dimitri was,..... probably the most interesting charaecter. He was handsome. Russian and different. I liked how he really saw Rose for who she is. Ie knew the dirty romours going around about her weren't true and he even told her that AND he told her it was because he KNEW her which I thought was SO cute. He was kinda a Gary Stu but I think the male roles usually are better off that way. It is when the heroines are Sues that you need to watch out for in a Paranormal Romance novel because like I always say that if the reader cant relate the heroine is going to get REALLY annoying REALKY fast.
The plot wasn't really there but most PAnovels mess up theology line and I don't really feel like going into that right now.
So with that being said I did think the writing style was good but I didn't like the soap opera theme and I dont agree with a lot of things that RM put in her novel and I DONT feel like this book is CLEAN romance. But if you like it then whatever. I won't think any less of you so please dont troll me or get all angry just because I don't like it. Happy reading :D

The book was pretty good actually... and I wasn't a very big fan of the whole Dimitri/Rose romance, but it was pretty good overall in my opinion.
