really liked it
bookshelves: multi-cultural, theme

The Indian in the Cupboard is a fun tale of imagination. Omri is given a cupboard from his mother and a plastic toy Indian from his friend so he decides to twist the "magic key" when putting the toy into the cupboard...to his surprise, the toy becomes alive! Omri later realizes how much control he has over the situation and that he needs to take responsibility for his actions. I did not give this book five stars due to possible racial slurs. With the vocabulary, I would recommend this book for fourth or fifth grade.
