Some people are overwhelmingly talented and one of those people is Siddhartha Mukherjee. As if it isn't enough to hold a prestigious position as a fellow in one of the world's foremost cancer treatment hospitals, Mr. Mukherjee was inspired to write a "biography of cancer" and we are most fortunate that he has. Cancer is described not just as a worthy adversary of modern medicine but as a complex and subtle part of us, a foil in which our own biologic desire to survive is driven to cause our demise. This Pulitzer Prize winning book is fascinating for anyone with a passing interest in cancer and/or terrific writing.
