This book is not as great as I hoped Stephen King would write it as, but that is because he shies away from the action and horror themes he usually writes on, but it is a good book nonetheless. As it turns out, this is more of a romance styled book with some action, but mostly plot progression.
This book is about the main character Roland, who stops the group to tell them a tale of his past. This tale takes place when Roland is 17 years old, the change from a boy to a man, his first romance with a beautiful girl named Susan Delgado, and his final confrontation with the townspeople who betray him and his friends.
I recommend this book to those who enjoy a good romance tragedy (I won't spoil the ending), and a good story of betrayal, lust, and adventure. I personally dislike romance novels and non-actiony/story progression stories. You don't even really need to read the previous books, since this one takes place a long time before even the first book.
