** spoiler alert ** This book, The White Tiger written by Aravind Adiga brings us to see life in modern India through the eyes of Balram. Barlam is a boy from a poor family in rural India. Growing up he decided to drive as a paid driver for work. Eventually he got lucky when a rich man decides to hire him as a chauffeur. Driving his rich masters around he started to notice things about society and decides that there is only one way to break free from the rigid society.
The message that this book shows is that luck and your society plays a big role in how wealthy you could be. This book also shows that breaking free from a social class is not impossible.
This book was an interesting book with unexpected turns and decisions made by the protagonist. There isn't much ways which I could relate to this book but this book does make me think about what I want to do when I grow up.
