A good and reasonably thorough overview of the life of George Kennan, the remarkable man behind America's cold war policy of containment. But not on a par with Kennan's own memoirs, the first installment of which (1925-50) is a genuine classic of its kind and was justly awarded both the Pulitzer and the National Book Award.
