The Doors of Stone (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #3)
by Patrick Rothfuss (Goodreads Author)

Proof that Kvothe is Lady Meluan's nephew right here.
These are the lyrics to the song that led to Arliden (Father of
Kvothe) sleeping under the wagon.
Dark Laurian, Arliden's wife,
Has a face like a blade of a knife
Has a voice like a prickledown burr
But can tally a sum like a moneylender.
My sweet Tally cannot cook.
But she keeps a tidy ledger-book
For all her faults I do confess
It's worth my life
To make my wife
Not tally a lot less
Last line, ever play that game where you have to say some random
gibberish fast to figure out what it means?
Not tally a lot less Natalia Lockless What are the odds? And it
was such a random addition to the book. Mr. Rothfuss, who I absolutely adore for the superlatively wonderful quotes of Kvothe (and assorted other fantastic moments), couldn't quite refrain from dropping hints. I am enthralled by this series, If you are as well, I highly recommend the reread over at Tor.com.
P.S. I can't claim credit for this myself, I found it on a message board. Although in all fairness, it only confirmed my suspicions.

OMG! Epic! Natalia Lockless. I would have never thought of that one...

I kind of already thought that he was related to the Lockless family anyway--the whole story in book 2 where he learns why the Lady hates the Rue (sp) and how Kvothe's mother got on him about that little rhyme he was repeating about Lady Lockless.
yeah, I kind of had a feeling there's something fishy about Meluan's sister. But I just thought one of the troupers got her. Not his father. I mean, wow. And I didn't really give any special meaning to the poem. That was so cool. Epic, at most.
Didnt he mention that kvothe visited his moms famiky once when he was very young in the small kindoms?
They could have been distant family, or his family justtreated them like family and he mistook their relationship at the time due to his age.
I thought also that he is the nephew since she looks familiar to him and she has a sister that took off with an edema ruh... To much coincidence
I got the impression that Denna was the lackless sister that ran off. Meluan Lackless is described with red lips in the same way that he describes Denna with red lips earlier.Early in the first book, Kvothe mentions his family going to visit the mothers family, one time only, which would imply that he knows of the family.
