Really more of a 1.5 than a 1. It didn't make me angry, it was just excessively boring.

Why I Didn't Like This Book

The main character - let's call her Desperate - is a single unsuccessful actress in her early forties, of Jewish decent, who is hearing the call of wedding bells... or is that her biological clock ticking? Whatever it is, it's driving her batty and making her bitter.

SHE NEEDS TO FIND A MAN DAMMIT.

The story goes basically like this:

LOL MY DATING LIFE SUCKS.

(anecdote + lots of whining)

LOL I WISH MY GAY FRIEND WASN'T GAY BECAUSE HE'D BE THE BEST HUSBAND EVER.

(anecdote + lots of whining)

WHY DO ALL MY FRIENDS GET MARRIED EXCEPT FOR ME?

(anecdote + lots of whining)

LOL BEING QUASI-FAMOUS SUCKS. GOD, I HATE BEING A SUCCESSFUL PLAYWRIGHT/COMEDIENNE. LIFE IS AWFUL.

(anecdotes + lots of whining)

After about 200 pages, I decided it was time to call it quits.

Next, please!
